10/15/13 Organizational Meeting of New Dance Community
Name: Voted & decided Portland Community Dance as name of the organization.
Voted & decided Dance Sunday as the name of the Sunday dance.
DJ Compensation: $60/Dance; $80/Traveling DJ. Reviewed in 2 months. Chloe Faith Urban will manage the DJ Scheduling while PCA at Avant. Kellie Ryan will assist with the FB DJ posting and email member communication.
Mail Chimp: Deb Grant will have tutorial at a future time.
Greeters: Julie Vohs will be Greeter Coordinator for next 3 mo. Greeters get 2 dances free. Greeter schedule gets put on FB.
Finance: Don agreed to 2 mo term as Treasurer and will hold the money. Dances will be cash payment only for the next 2 mo. If someone is short of cash, a note IDing the person and amount owed will travel to next weeks dance for referencing that debt.
Setup: Done by early volunteers. Curtains, dry mop floor. Move Greeter table back to reduce conversation noise. Mary Ellen will explore drape options.
DJ: Sage Hays and Kellie Ryan will meet with existing DJs to discuss and bring back to the general membership ideas about set formats, training, etc.. They will give a presentation on DJ issues at the 10/27/13 open meeting after dance. Announcements after dance in the circle will be limited to PCA announcements. Other announcements can be placed at the Greeters table. Recognizing new dancers and saying our names is welcomed.
Avant: As of now Neil Sattin has the key to Avant and the relationship to the owner. We should leave the facility by 12:30.
10/27/13 Open PCA community meeting: After dance there will be a meeting to answer any qts. people may have about this new dance community. Kellie and Sage will present information on DJ issues and take suggestions.
Next Organizational Meeting: Tuesday, 10/29/13 at 7 PM at Julie Vohs's home.
