Wizengamot (Operations Comittee) Meeting Notes 2/16/14

Dave was unable to attend, and asked John to relay the following information:

  • He filled out his page in the Operations Manual
  • The Ocean facility is not definite yet for March 2; they haven't gotten back to Dave, but also we haven't ponied up with insurance.
  • Event insurance: $300/single, $600/double, or $1000/year. Dave not sure what all that covers. Should we just do the single event or go for a 1 year policy?
  • Maybe we would have our attorney look over the policy? John: This would be beyond the scope of what we've hired Zeke to do, so it would be at his normal hourly rate ($175/hr). We could look it over ourselves and then decide if we want to have Zeke review it.
Don asked: What do we think we should be covered for?
Sage:
  • general liability to $1 or $2 million or whatever
  • coverage for wherever we meet

Could Dave find out from Kristin: are we covered through Kristin's insurance when we dance at Avant? What's the coverage?

John asked who else on the Wiz might like to review the policy, and the suggestion was to just send it to the Wiz and any of us could review it.

John acknowledged Don with appreciation for all the work he does for PCD. Much appreciation expressed for Don's work in organizational matters, the MailChimp newsletter, and finances.

Jim: would like to document all our information channels: Facebook, email list, phone #, website
We should put the Mission Statement on our facebook page. John to do this (ed: this is done).
Mail list is in MailChimp, not gmailNo using that list for personal

Sage and Don reported on the DJ group meeting and were impressed with the harmony of common purpose. They're creating body of work around guidelines (content/logistics, criteria for membership, etc.)

John raised (again already!) the issue of our name after Deb's request at closing circle today for the members of the steering committee to raise their hands. We will keep the name Wizengamot, which we all love so well, but make it clear that our purpose is for operations rather than steering, which is the Meraki's job.

Next meeting: March 9 after dance.
